16th December 2011

We are still busy working on the new Show. Making puppets, designing set and getting our heads round the new animation programme... Right now we have the last few performances in December before we take a short Christmas break. Beginning of January we will be back working on the new show. We look forward to that!
Have a lovely Christmas everyone, and hope to see you in the New Year!

12th October 2011

It’s been a while since our last update! We have been so busy organising the 4th Skipton International Puppet Festival, that we almost forgot about us... The festival was another phenomenal success. 93% of tickets sold, 27 companies performing, weather good, people happy. Check out the festival website www.skiptonpuppetfestival.co.uk for details.
Beginning of September we also took our “Belly Theatres” to the friendly Bornholm Festival in Denmark. Thank you Ida, for making us so welcome there. And we will never forget “Svaneke Ismejeri”. Then Liz also performed “Journey of Turtle” at various festivals in Easter Germany.
Daniel is about to leave for another trip to Switzerland, performing “Ugly Beauty” in Winterthur. And after that, all focus will be on our new production “The Fisherman and the Pearl”. This is an exciting new show that we produce in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society. Bringing together a theme close to our hearts with Lempen theatre style. We will be working with Alison Duddle from Horse and Bamboo Theatre to combine puppetry, mask, animation and storytelling in what we hope will be a very visual theatre experience.

A few months back, we enjoyed our time with “Grandad and Dragon” while filming with the department of Effective Education at the University of York.

27th March 2011

In January things looked quite gloomy with bookings. But things have changed a lot. Firstly we managed to organise a big tour to the Isle of Man for this June. This will be our 6th visit to this lovely island. Then other organisers awoke and bookings for Theatres, Schools, Festivals and another
transitional school workshop in Bradford which will keep Liz busy for a while, came in. Not to forget the interesting film project we do with the Department of Effective Education with York University. Teaching Maths to KS2 children in a fun way!
And then, came the fantastic news from the Arts Council. We now have the necessary funds to organise the 4th Skipton International Puppet Festival. Great news for the whole British puppetry community! We have just launched the new festival website www.skiptonpuppetfestival.co.uk
In a few weeks time we will premiere “Ugly Beauty” as “Prinzessin Goldenschön” in Switzerland. We look forward to this.

11th January 2011

Happy New Year! We hope it started well wherever you are. After a relaxing break we are back performing and also in the office gathering bookings for the year ahead. In 2011 we especially look forward to be able to return to the Isle of Man in June, a couple of weeks at the Bern Puppet Theatre in Switzerland and a return visit to Eastern Germany in September looks also to be on the cards. But till then there are lots of other nice places up and down the country.
February, March and April still look a little thinner than in previous years, but we hope that some schools and venues will make last minute decisions to have us.
The new-look website is now up an running and we hope you like the it.

15th November 2010

Time has flown and here we are nearly 5 months on. After a lovely relaxed Summer we had a very
busy September and October. Just over 40 performances! Also some days making, recording and
filming for a film project. Oh, and Liz also finished a transitional school project, together with Ted
Beresford, making Jig Dolls with 9 Pupils from Ermysteds Grammar School.
We have also been touring internationally. For the 4th time we took part at the Puppet Festival in
Mistelbach (Austria), were Liz performed “Die Taumreise der Schildkröte” (Journey of Turtle). And
once again we met lots of old friends, and made new ones.
The future looks, as many puppeteers may say, difficult. Venues and organisers have less money
and so our bookings for December and the first few months of next year are down. We should be
ok, but a few more bookings would help a lot!!!

1st August 2010

We enjoyed a fabulous July with exciting venues and festivals. “The Rainbow Forest” went down really well at the Beverley Puppet Festival. Having visited a few festivals there, we thought this years was the best! Well done to Anna Ingleby and Beverley Arts Trust! Then we enjoyed a fantastic time with our “Theatre for One” shows at the International Puppetbuskersfestival in Gent, Belgium. What a beautiful city with friendly people. We will remember Gent for a long time. They all made us most welcome.
Now we take a bit of a break from performing, so that we will be fresh for the busy autumn season. September and October already look extremely busy and we also will start on an exciting programme creating short, educational puppet films in York. Liz will be in the workshop, soon to build some puppets for that.

28th May 2010

We had a lovely couple of months. A nice return visit to the atmospheric Bern Puppet Theatre in
Switzerland, where we played with “Die Traumreise der Schildkröte” and “Ds Grimm Dings”. Then
we travelled on to Austria where we performed at the Sommertraumhafen Festival in Wies (Styria).
This was our first visit there and we very much enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends.
Then, just after a few days back home we left for the 5th International Marionetten Festival in
Luxembourg. There we also premiered our new Theatre for One piece, “The Belly Bug”. What a
lovely location Tadler village was! And the beautiful weather was enjoyed by all!!! A big thanks to all
the organisers of these festivals.
June / July we will be performing closer to home as our next international outing is not till the Street
Festival in Gent in  Belgium.
